Massive freaking tutorialSo at my lovely friend's encouragement, I started drawing the doll tutorial for you guys.
Since when I was learning to make ball jointed dolls, I went through a lot of money and wasted products because nowhere NOWHERE was there a good, complete source of information on what I needed to use and have on hand in order to make a doll that wouldn't fall apart, catch on fire, smell like gasoline forever, or FREAKING MELT when I tried to wash it.. Also no one ever told me the HUGE PROBLEMS that arise when you try to make a smaller doll with the elastic for a bigger one, or what size dolls there were clothes available for.
So I started by making an information guide on what size you should build and why, then all the materials you need for making dolls, including proper modeling compounds that will STAY TOGETHER and work.
That doesn't sound like much. Also, this journal entry is bigger than the paragraphs I used to describe each one and what they were for.
Well, no.
The sucker is 14 feet long.

Even if it's just a practise work made in two days, it's still so pleasing to see that woah we're moving these pieces of paper around and then it's actually turning into ANIMATION I DON'T KNOW A BETTER FEELING THAN THAT also next spring we're starting to make our first hand-drawn animations, I can't wAIT

Loved it!
And it was really good for a 2 day animation. I did one myself and it turned out not even half as good as this one. My experience with these things is that you need as much time cutting out the pieces as you need to shoot and compose - was it the same with you?

We cut the pieces beforehand, also there were five people working on this at the same time so it was probably much easier. Putting up the pieces and composing was really time consuming though!

my new year's resolution is to get into a lot of stuff that isn't art, like take up irish dancing or learn yet another language or something. sitting around doing the same thing all day is booooooringgggg even if it's an interesting thing
